SAC recruitment drive for 2010/11 committee members

Hello everybody!
Time flies, its time for us (the current committee members to pass the "baton" to the next coming committees ). It has been an awesome year, we had sowed, reaped and harvested many "crops", achievements and success throughout the year, with the "sweats" from our dedicated and devoted committees and also, not to forget the students who have been supporting us all these while by attending and participating in our events and activities .

Whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

A BIG thank you to you guys! =)

We are pretty sure that some of you guys out there are curious and doubtful on the functions, operations and objectives of SAC.

So what is SAC about?
Basically, we are the one who facilitate all sorts of fun, interesting, astounding activities to Sunway-TES students and lecturers. ( so that all of us can enjoy our college life instead of just PLAIN and DULL studies )

What do the committees do during their tenure? Its so eventful!!! and luckily..... we had Dinisha to summarise it =).
The following is a noteworthy post from our lovely and beloved,
Dinisha Sasietharan, Member of the Public Relations Department

This LONG post (I’ve WARNED you!) is all about my journey as a SAC committee member of 2010 and is dedicated to the advisor and to all the committee members.   My story begins with this very first picture of us.
This picture was taken on our very first day of meeting back in 2009. We had ice-breaking session together with the SAC 2009 committee members whom were very nice people. We also had lunch and it was nice getting to know new friends. I never had any thoughts about anything at all, at that moment of time, i was just scared at the same time very excited to get to know new people. Never had i had the impression or even the perception that these would be the people that would make me feel belong or happy during rainy days (sorry a bit dramatic).
The next event that combined both the SAC 2009 and 2010 board was this one, where we brought the Trinty Home kids to KLCC. It was so much fun meeting the kids for the very first time and getting to know them. It was a good good day. This was back in December 2009.
YEAR 2010
It was the start of a brand new year and a brand new semester. I was very eager to start on working together with the SAC members on events and whatnot. The first event was to raise fund for the Trinity Home kids. Elaine was the OC and is currently the OC for the kids. We had charity week where we sold food and drinks to the students, lecturers and staffs at the Energy Hub at the College’s Cafetaria. Our profit was way beyond anyone’s expectation. The charity week was the first time we ever got to know each other and even though we all felt tired, weak and sick at the end of the week, we had fun getting to know each other and eating the leftovers. *evil grin*

You may wonder, what’s the deal with the Trinity Home kids? Well, every year, the SAC board has this responsibility to teach the kids at the home, every Friday night. It’s a once in a lifetime experience having to teach the kids, talk to them, connect with them and share your experience and life stories with them.

Oh yes, this might be the very first few moments to be remembered as well. Ms. Margaret our advisor got us yeesang to add in the mood for Chinese New Year and we definitely had a good time. So thank you Ms Margaret. :)
20th Sunway University College ACCA/CAT Graduation Ceremony was held in April 2010 and was one of the most important events of the year. Richard was the OC and personally i think, for a first timer, the whole process went smoothly! How many people out there can you find saying “Oh i organized the whole graduation ceremony for god knows how many hundreds of people!” ? So yes, we as a whole group, might have done mistakes here and there, but nevertheless, it was perfect. :)
I couldn’t find a group photo for SAC Sports Day which was organized by Kai. So i posted the Sunway Sports Carnival picture where the SAC and a few of our ACCA friends joined as well. Back to SAC Sports Day, everything went on smooth except for futsal. But you know what, i actually had fun selling drinks, eating lots and i mean LOTS of pizza and taking pictures as well. :)
Buffet dinner at Sun and Surf Cafe, Sunway Hotel all paid for by Sunway-TES for our hardwork on pulling off the awesome Graduation ceremony. I really felt appreciated, seriously, it feels really good to be a SAC-ian. We’ve got to thank Ms. Margaret for all her hardwork and for fighting for our rights, for food and drinks, and for guiding us through all events. I am sure everyone has their ups and downs but hey, look where are we right now? It’s been an awesome journey, no? :)   Buffet dinner night was one helluva night. I felt really sorry though, for the other diners at the cafe because a bunch of 20 teenage would NEVER dine in complete silence, which was exactly what the other diners were practically doing, sitting there quietly and munching on their food, while we were so noisy and on our feet all the time, walking around and taking awesome pictures and strutting our stuffs lol :P

The end of the Semester till June.
Once we got back from our pathetic 2 weeks of semester break, we immediately worked on Social Gathering. Soon Jin and Li Ting were the Organizing people and they did a splendid job and EVERYONE in SAC would agree, be it the students, staffs or even the lecturers. The positive feedback we got for the event far outweigh the negative feedback. You know, i remembered being so stressed and scared for social gathering until it actually started, omg i was so into it, i was just having fun non-stop. Perfect timing schedule, ended on time, fantastic crowd, fantastic performance, etc. I was so so happy that it was such a success.  :)
Camp took place only very recently. Dinesh was the OC for camp and i think it went on well. The campers were good sport and i hope everyone had their fair share of fun. On behalf of SAC, i would really like to thank all of you campers who participated in this camp for making it a success, you guys were the bomb and without all of you, camp could never be fun. So for that, A VERY BIG THANK YOU :)
The SAC members who made everything happen. :) I heart you guys and thank you for helping and supporting each other the whole way. I know that camp has used up nearly all of your energy and destroy your skin colour, but i hope that it was all worth it. :)
For the mooncake festival, with Elaine’s idea, we celebrated the festival with the kids with tanglungs and candles and mooncakes and fish shaped cookies. You could see the joy in the kids face, eyes and their smiles, such priceless moments.
21st Sunway-TES ACCA/CAT Graduation Ceremony was held yesterday, 2nd October 2010. It marks our very last SAC event for the year. This event was organized by Jian Qin and she was so stressed up about it. Haha, it’s kinda cute when you see her all stressed up because she’s like the baby of the group, all cute, innocent and young etc, that you always see her smiling and she has this very bubbly personality. So it was kinda sad seeing her all stressed up but hey, it went on well! This time around, the crowd was much bigger and it was harder to do crowd control. Food served this time was way better! You know when they uploaded the pictures in Facebook, i felt so happy looking at all of the graduation pictures because it showed how much all of us have changed to being people whom don’t really know each other, to people who mean so much to us in life, people whom i’d want to keep in touch even after this semester.
SAC means a lot to me, the people means a lot to me. The friends i have made. The close bond. The experiences that i have gained. Exactly one year ago, i would never have thought of joining SAC if it wasn’t for Khaled who actually forced Sufyan and me to signed up. I even wanted to skip the interview just because i was so scared and nervous. But you know what, i owe it to Khaled who forced us to sign up, because signing up to be an SAC was probably one of the wisest and best decision that i have ever made for my life. So thank you Khaled. I belanja you cheese naan :D

Ms Margaret Chandra.
Thank you for everything you have done for us. It’s been an amazing experience and i want to thank you for the opportunity that you have given me, and i hope i didn’t disappoint you. You’re an amazing woman, and i hope that life takes you far, and may god bless you.
TO LAVINIA CHIN, the President of SAC 2010.
Thank you for everything you have done for us this year, it’s been an amazing journey and i can’t see another person taking your position as President. I think you’ve been an awesome president and someone whom we can go to for advise and instructions. Despite the fact that, as friends, we are always bullying you, but you’re fun like that. You’re blur haha. :P  But that’s what we love about you, because you’re always open and you laugh at our lame jokes, and also our lame attempt to bully you haha. :D  *hugs*
To ALL SAC committee 2010 including Madeline, Sam and Nicholas.
Yes, Maddy, Sam and Nick, i really think and feel that you guys are in the 2010 committee, you guys were always there at most of our events, we’ve grown fond of you, well at least i am. And i just want to say THANK YOU to all of you for eveything and for experiences especially. This memories are something that i would treasure forever. 2 years from now, when i am stressed up at work, i would be looking back at our AWESOME pictures and reminisce the awesome times we had together. Before i end this post, i would like to say sorry if i have hurt your feelings for at times, ok maybe most of the times, i am sarcastic and straightforward. So that is myStory. God bless.
