ACCA SPORTS DAY 2010



April 11 2010- Sunway University College, Petaling Jaya. The sky was blue and clear on a Sunday morning. The penetrating sun rays providing much hope for the ACCA Sports Day organiser, Sunway ACCA Club whom had countless night of prayers for a smooth day for the yearly sports event. And what an event it was! With participants lining up as early as 7.30am, they were seen practising & playing in their respective venue before the games even got started, confidence & enthusiasm were sky high.

There were futsal, basketball, ping pong, badminton & the crowd’s favourite tug-of-war!



The day got started with Futsal, Basketball, Badminton. Competitions were stiff & the crowd obviously got pumped up for the futsal event! With chanting ranging from ‘M’sia Boleh till Mauritius!’, the International students were equally seen to be concentrating into their respective games! Tackles were flying around and occasionally some confrontations between players but it all proved to be just part of their enthusiasm into the games, with everyone wanted the piece of winning pie. A handshake was just the sufficient remedy to bring down the heat on both side.

Team ‘Wa Tak Goyang’ were seen celebrating their victory. They emerged as the finalist.

On the basketball side, teams were seen bringing supporters into the court and once the game got going, it never looked back. ACCA students proved that they are not just good at nerding, they are equally good at sports too! One of the participants were seen ‘alley-hopping’ with the other to the cheer of the crowd.

When interviewed, Sunway CAT student, Lee Hyun Seok, a Korean, “This is the second time I participated in ACCA Sports Day, I love the crowd and the atmosphere, very competitive!”

The Sports Day ended with Tug-of-War, where 10 persons are pitched against each other and the present and ex-committee actually formed a team to battle with the participants too!

It was a great event & great job done by the organiser. Looking forward for next year’s edition!
